Description
This easy-to-make pecan pie bark combines toasted pecans, buttery caramel, and optional melted chocolate for a sweet, crunchy treat. Perfect for holiday gifting or satisfying your sweet tooth any time!
Ingredients
- Pecans: Use fresh, whole pecans for the best flavor and texture.
- Butter: Unsalted butter helps balance the sweetness of the caramel.
- Brown Sugar: Light or dark brown sugar works to create the perfect caramelized coating.
- Vanilla Extract: A touch of vanilla enhances the overall flavor.
- Chocolate (Optional): If you love chocolate, adding melted chocolate chips will make this bark even more irresistible.
- Salt (Optional): A pinch of sea salt can add a delightful contrast to the sweetness.
Instructions
- Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Toast the Pecans: Spread the pecans on the baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 8–10 minutes, until they’re fragrant and golden.
- Prepare the Caramel: In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly. Let the mixture simmer for about 2–3 minutes, until it thickens slightly.
- Assemble the Bark: Pour the caramel over the toasted pecans and spread it evenly. If desired, add melted chocolate on top and spread it out to cover the pecans.
- Chill the Bark: Let the bark cool for at least 2 hours to set completely. Once set, break it into pieces and store it in an airtight container.
Notes
- If you prefer, you can add a pinch of sea salt on top for a sweet-salty contrast.
- Store the bark in an airtight container for up to 1 week or freeze for longer storage.
