Description

Quick and easy, these 15-minute Mongolian Noodles with Ground Beef are a delicious weeknight meal. Featuring a savory sauce with a hint of sweetness, they are perfect for busy evenings and will satisfy the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz noodles (lo mein or spaghetti)
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • Red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add minced ginger and garlic to the beef and sauté for another 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  • Pour in the sauce mixture and stir until the sauce begins to thicken, around 2 minutes.
  • Add the cooked noodles and toss everything together to coat. Sprinkle in green onions and red pepper flakes, if desired.
  • Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and additional green onions.

Notes

  • Adjust the level of spice by adding more or fewer red pepper flakes according to your preference.
  • For added flavor, consider garnishing with additional sesame oil before serving.
