Description

  • This 3 Ingredient Toffee is the easiest homemade candy you’ll ever make! With just butter, brown sugar, and chocolate chips, you’ll have a rich, crunchy toffee that tastes like it came straight from a candy shop. It’s perfect for holiday gifts, cookie trays, or whenever you need a quick sweet fix.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)


Instructions

  1. Prepare pan: Line a small baking sheet or 9×9-inch pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. Melt butter & sugar: In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar and bring the mixture to a boil.

  3. Boil & thicken: Continue boiling (stir constantly) for 6–8 minutes until the mixture thickens and turns a deep caramel color. A candy thermometer should read about 290°F (soft crack stage).

  4. Pour & spread: Immediately pour the hot toffee mixture onto the prepared pan and spread it evenly.

  5. Add chocolate: Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let sit for 1–2 minutes to melt, then spread evenly with a spatula.

  6. Cool & break: Allow toffee to cool completely at room temperature (or chill in the fridge). Once set, break into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can sprinkle chopped nuts (like almonds or pecans) over the melted chocolate for extra crunch.

  • Use a silicone spatula and heavy saucepan for best results.
