Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup 7-Up soda (or any lemon-lime soda)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in 7-Up soda and stir just until dough comes together. Do not overmix.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently pat to about 1-inch thickness.
- Use a biscuit cutter or glass to cut out biscuits and place them on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Serve warm with butter, honey, or your favorite jam.
Notes
- Substitute with other lemon-lime sodas if 7-Up is unavailable.
- For a savory twist, add 1 tsp dried herbs like rosemary or thyme.
- Use buttermilk instead of soda for a tangier biscuit.
