- For the dumplings, mix the flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, baking powder, ¼ teaspoon salt, nutmeg, and milk in a separate bowl until just combined.
- Drop the dumpling mixture by tablespoonfuls into the simmering berry mixture. Cover tightly and simmer for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
- Serve hot, preferably with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream.
