Description

These Air Fried Apple Wedges are a delightful treat, featuring tender, cinnamon-spiced apples paired with a creamy caramel whipped cream dipping sauce. Quick and easy to make, they offer a satisfying crunch and sweetness that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium Gala apples
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for the apples)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (for coating)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • 4 oz whipped cream
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  • Prepare the Apples: Peel the Gala apples and remove the cores. Slice them into wedges about 1/4-inch thick.
  • Coat the Apple Wedges: In a mixing bowl, drizzle the melted butter over the apple wedges and sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Toss carefully to ensure all apple slices are evenly coated.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for a few minutes.
  • Air Fry the Apples: Place the coated apple wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 5-7 minutes, checking for tenderness and a crispy edge.
  • Prepare the Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture: While the apples are air frying, combine the sugar and remaining 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • Toss in Cinnamon-Sugar: Once the apple wedges are finished, remove them from the air fryer and quickly toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until they are well covered.
  • Make the Dipping Sauce: In a separate bowl, gently fold the caramel sauce into the whipped cream. Do this slowly to maintain the whipped cream’s light texture.
  • Chill the Dipping Sauce: Chill the caramel whipped cream for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serve: Arrange the warm apple wedges on a serving plate and add the caramel whipped cream dipping sauce on the side for a delightful treat.

Notes

  • For an extra flavor boost, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • These apple wedges are best enjoyed fresh out of the air fryer while warm.
