- 4 hot dog buns
- 4 hot dogs
- 8 slices cheddar cheese (or your preferred cheese)
- 2 tablespoons butter (softened)
- Optional toppings: ketchup, mustard, relish, onions
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat for 3 minutes.
- Cook the Hot Dogs: Place hot dogs in the air fryer basket and cook for 4–5 minutes until heated through and slightly crispy. Remove and set aside.
- Assemble Grilled Cheese Hot Dogs: Butter the inside and outside of each bun. Add one slice of cheese inside the bun, place the hot dog on top, and cover with another slice of cheese.
- Air Fry the Assembled Dogs: Carefully place the assembled buns into the air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F for 4–6 minutes, or until golden and melty.
- Serve and Top: Remove and top with ketchup, mustard, relish, or onions if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- You can use different cheeses like mozzarella, pepper jack, or American.
- For an extra crisp, use brioche buns.
- Works great with plant-based hot dogs and vegan cheese too!
