Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bunch of asparagus (about 1 pound/20 spears)
- 1 egg (whisked with 1 teaspoon water)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Wash and pat dry the asparagus. Bend each spear until it snaps at the natural breaking point, discarding the tough ends.
- Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with the beaten egg, and one with a mixture of panko and seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Coat each spear in flour, dip into the egg, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture, shaking off excess.
- Place the coated spears on a parchment-lined baking sheet and lightly spray with cooking spray.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 7 minutes.
- Use tongs to carefully remove cooked spears and continue cooking the remaining spears until all are crispy. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For added flavor, experiment with spices in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Serve immediately for the best texture.
