Description

These Air Fryer Shrimp are a quick, easy, and healthy way to enjoy shrimp with a crispy, golden exterior and tender, juicy interior. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or appetizer, they cook in just minutes with minimal oil, making them a lighter alternative to deep-fried shrimp. The shrimp are seasoned with garlic, paprika, and lemon, making them bursting with flavor. Serve them with a dipping sauce or on top of salads, tacos, or pasta!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on or off)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:
If not already done, peel and devein the shrimp. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture, which will help them crisp up in the air fryer.
  2. Season the Shrimp:
In a bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Make sure the shrimp are evenly coated with the seasoning.
  3. Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Cook the Shrimp:
Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded. Cook at 400°F for 6-8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the shrimp are pink and opaque and slightly crispy on the outside.
  5. Serve:
Remove the shrimp from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges for squeezing over the top.

Notes

  • If your air fryer is small, you may need to cook the shrimp in batches to avoid overcrowding the basket.
  • You can adjust the seasoning to your preference—add more spice if you like it hotter or more garlic for extra flavor.
  • These shrimp are versatile—serve them with your favorite dipping sauce, over a salad, or with pasta.
