Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the applesauce, sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix well until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the walnuts and raisins, if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Optional: Drizzle with a glaze made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, if desired.
