Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, crumbled saltine crackers, 1 cup milk, Italian herbs, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into 1/2-inch-thick patties (about 8).
- Lightly coat each patty in flour, tapping off the excess.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil if needed and brown the patties on each side for 2-3 minutes.
- Place the browned patties in a single layer in the greased baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and 1 cup milk. Pour the mixture over the patties.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
