Scale

For the Crisp Topping:

  • 1/3 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

For the Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture:

  • 3 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Apples:

  • 2 medium apples (Granny Smith, Gala), peeled and diced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Bread Batter:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

For the Cheesecake Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg

For the Glaze:

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk or cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pan and Preheat Oven: Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Make the Crisp Topping: In a bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir in melted butter until evenly moistened. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Prepare the Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture: Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside.
  • Prepare the Apples: Toss diced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl; set aside.
  • Make the Bread Batter:
    • In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
    • Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with milk, mixing until just combined.
  • Make the Cheesecake Filling: Beat cream cheese, sugar, flour, and vanilla until smooth. Add the egg and mix until just combined. Set aside.
  • Assemble the Bread:
    • Spread half of the bread batter in the loaf pan.
    • Sprinkle half of the apple mixture and the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.
    • Spoon the cheesecake filling on top of the apples, spreading gently.
    • Add the remaining bread batter, smooth the top, scatter the remaining apples, and sprinkle with the crisp topping.
  • Bake: Bake for 55-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Tent with foil if the top is browning too much.
  • Cool and Glaze: Let cool in the pan for 20-30 minutes, then lift out using the parchment overhang and transfer to a wire rack.
  • Prepare the Glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl and drizzle over the cooled bread.
