Scale
- 1 wheel of brie cheese (about 8 oz)
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
- 4–6 fresh figs, sliced
- 2 slices prosciutto, torn into small pieces
- 2 tbsp honey, plus extra for drizzling
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a square large enough to wrap the brie.
- Place the brie in the center of the puff pastry.
- Top the brie with the sliced figs and torn prosciutto. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of honey.
- Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the brie, pinching the edges to seal it completely.
- Brush the top of the pastry with the beaten egg to give it a golden finish.
- Place the wrapped brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and drizzle with extra honey. Garnish with fresh thyme, if desired.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving with crackers, bread, or fruit.
Notes
- You can add a little bit of balsamic glaze for an extra depth of flavor.
- If you prefer, you can use dried figs if fresh figs are not available.
- This appetizer is best served warm and can be eaten with crackers, crostini, or sliced baguette.
