Description

This Baked Crunchy Hot Honey Chicken features juicy chicken breasts coated in a crispy cornflake crust and drizzled with a sweet and spicy honey glaze. Perfect for a family dinner or a casual gathering!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups cornflakes cereal, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray or vegetable oil (for greasing)

For the Hot Honey Glaze:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place a wire rack on a baking sheet and lightly grease it with cooking spray or vegetable oil.
  • Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with the beaten eggs, and one with the crushed cornflakes mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Dip each chicken breast into the flour, ensuring it’s well coated, then into the beaten eggs, and finally press it into the cornflake mixture to adhere the coating.
  • Arrange the breaded chicken on the wire rack with space between each piece to ensure even cooking.
  • Bake the chicken for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the coating is crispy and golden brown.
  • While the chicken is baking, prepare the hot honey glaze by mixing together honey, hot sauce, melted butter, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl.
  • Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven and brush the hot honey glaze over each chicken breast, coating them generously.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious, crispy hot honey chicken!

Notes

  • For a spicier glaze, increase the amount of hot sauce to your liking.
  • Leftover chicken can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
