Description

These Baked Oysters are an indulgent, crowd-pleasing appetizer, perfect for any special occasion or seafood lover. Topped with a delicious garlic butter, breadcrumbs, and a hint of lemon, these oysters are baked to perfection. Serve them as a luxurious starter for a dinner party or a romantic meal!

  • 12 fresh oysters, shucked
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with rock salt or crumpled foil to stabilize the oyster shells.
  • Place the shucked oysters on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are stable and level.
  • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the garlic butter mixture over each oyster.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and the oysters are cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and garnish with extra parsley and lemon wedges. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a smoky flavor, finish the oysters under the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, or sprinkle them with a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little heat!
