- 12 fresh oysters, shucked
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with rock salt or crumpled foil to stabilize the oyster shells.
- Place the shucked oysters on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are stable and level.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the garlic butter mixture over each oyster.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and the oysters are cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with extra parsley and lemon wedges. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a smoky flavor, finish the oysters under the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, or sprinkle them with a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little heat!
