- 1 lb rigatoni pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (14 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (4 oz) package Boursin cheese (garlic & herb flavor)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Cook rigatoni according to package directions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sautรฉ until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add sausage and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through.
- Add garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to blend flavors.
- Remove from heat and stir in Boursin cheese until melted and creamy.
- Combine cooked rigatoni with the sausage sauce and fresh basil, mixing well.
- Transfer to a greased baking dish. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Bake uncovered for 20โ25 minutes, until cheese is melted and golden.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use spicy Italian sausage for extra heat.
- Substitute Boursin with cream cheese and fresh herbs if unavailable.
- Garnish with extra basil or red pepper flakes.
