Description

A hearty baked rigatoni pasta dish featuring savory sausage and creamy Boursin cheese, baked until bubbly and golden.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb rigatoni pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (14 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (4 oz) package Boursin cheese (garlic & herb flavor)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Cook rigatoni according to package directions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sautรฉ until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add sausage and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through.
  4. Add garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to blend flavors.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in Boursin cheese until melted and creamy.
  7. Combine cooked rigatoni with the sausage sauce and fresh basil, mixing well.
  8. Transfer to a greased baking dish. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  9. Bake uncovered for 20โ€“25 minutes, until cheese is melted and golden.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

  • Use spicy Italian sausage for extra heat.
  • Substitute Boursin with cream cheese and fresh herbs if unavailable.
  • Garnish with extra basil or red pepper flakes.
