Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a large saucepan, combine the mashed bananas, sugar, butter, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir until well combined.
- Cook: Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent burning. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the mixture thickens.
- Add Flavors: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. If desired, add the white chocolate chips and chopped nuts, stirring until fully incorporated.
- Pour and Set: Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Let it cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for 2-3 hours or until fully set.
- Cut and Serve: Once the fudge has set, cut it into squares and enjoy your homemade banana fudge!
Notes
- Be sure to use ripe bananas for the best flavor and smooth texture.
- If you prefer a smoother fudge, you can blend the bananas before adding them to the saucepan.
- The optional chocolate chips and nuts can be varied depending on your preference. For a different flavor, try adding chopped coconut or a drizzle of caramel.
