Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 package empanada dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

- Stir in the cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Mix in the shredded cheese.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the empanada dough and cut into circles. Place a spoonful of the beef and cheese filling in each circle. Fold over to form a half-moon shape and crimp the edges with a fork.
- Brush the top of each empanada with the beaten egg. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Enjoy warm with your favorite dipping sauce!
