Description

Flavorful and easy Beef Lettuce Wraps featuring seasoned ground beef, crisp vegetables, and a tangy sauce, all wrapped in fresh lettuce leaves. Perfect as a light meal or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup diced water chestnuts (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 head butter lettuce or iceberg lettuce, leaves separated
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant and softened, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  3. Stir in shredded carrots, water chestnuts, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, grated ginger, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook for another 3–5 minutes until vegetables are tender and flavors are well combined.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. To serve, spoon beef mixture into individual lettuce leaves.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
  8. Serve immediately as wraps.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a teaspoon of sriracha or chili flakes.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • Use iceberg lettuce for a crunchier wrap or romaine for sturdiness.
