Description

This Beefy Tortellini Pasta Bake is a hearty and comforting meal, featuring tender cheese-filled tortellini baked in a rich beef and marinara sauce. Topped with melted mozzarella and parmesan, this dish is sure to satisfy your cravings and become a family favorite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar marinara sauce (24 oz)
  • 1 package refrigerated cheese tortellini (about 9 oz)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce, garlic powder, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes to meld the flavors together.
  3. While the sauce simmers, cook the tortellini according to package instructions, then drain.
  4. In the prepared baking dish, combine the cooked tortellini and beef sauce mixture. Stir until the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.
  5. Top the pasta with shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese, spreading it evenly over the top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil, if desired, then serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer a spicier version, add more red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the beef sauce.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days before baking.
  • Feel free to use frozen tortellini if you don’t have refrigerated on hand.
