- 6 ounces Renardโs Mozzarella cheese, shredded (1 1/2 cups)
- 1 cup diced pepperoni
- 3/4 cup pizza sauce, divided
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 2 pounds ground beef (80% lean)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 6 ounces Renardโs Mozzarella cheese, cut into six slices (1 ounce each)
- 6 hamburger buns, split
- Optional Toppings: extra pepperoni, pickled and bell peppers, red onion, ripe olives
Instructions
- Grease the grill grate and preheat grill to medium heat.
- In a large bowl, combine shredded mozzarella, diced pepperoni, 1/2 cup pizza sauce, and dried oregano.
- Crumble ground beef over the mixture and mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Form the mixture into six equal patties, about 1/3 pound each. Season patties with salt and pepper.
- Place patties on the grill, cover, and cook for 5โ8 minutes on each side, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the patties reads 160ยฐF.
- Top each burger with a mozzarella cheese slice. Cover the grill and cook for 1โ3 minutes more, until cheese is melted.
- Spread the remaining pizza sauce onto the bottoms of the hamburger buns.
- Place the burgers on the prepared buns. Add desired optional toppings (extra pepperoni, pickled or bell peppers, red onion, ripe olives).
- Top with the bun tops and serve hot.
