These Pepperoni Pizza Burgers combine all the classic flavors of a pepperoni pizza with the juicy satisfaction of a cheeseburger. Perfect for grilling season, this recipe is loaded with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and savory pizza sauce, delivering a crowd-pleasing meal everyone will love.


Ingredients

  • 6 ounces Renardโ€™s Mozzarella cheese, shredded (1 1/2 cups)
  • 1 cup diced pepperoni
  • 3/4 cup pizza sauce, divided
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 2 pounds ground beef (80% lean)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 6 ounces Renardโ€™s Mozzarella cheese, cut into six slices (1 ounce each)
  • 6 hamburger buns, split
  • Optional Toppings: extra pepperoni, pickled and bell peppers, red onion, ripe olives


Instructions

  1. Grease the grill grate and preheat grill to medium heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine shredded mozzarella, diced pepperoni, 1/2 cup pizza sauce, and dried oregano.
  3. Crumble ground beef over the mixture and mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Form the mixture into six equal patties, about 1/3 pound each. Season patties with salt and pepper.
  5. Place patties on the grill, cover, and cook for 5โ€“8 minutes on each side, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the patties reads 160ยฐF.
  6. Top each burger with a mozzarella cheese slice. Cover the grill and cook for 1โ€“3 minutes more, until cheese is melted.
  7. Spread the remaining pizza sauce onto the bottoms of the hamburger buns.
  8. Place the burgers on the prepared buns. Add desired optional toppings (extra pepperoni, pickled or bell peppers, red onion, ripe olives).
  9. Top with the bun tops and serve hot.
