- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (adjust for consistency)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, whisk together 3 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms. If sticky, add the remaining flour gradually. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1-1.5 hours.
- Prepare the Cheesecake Filling: In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Roll and Fill the Dough: Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle (about 12×18 inches). Spread the cream cheese filling over the dough, leaving a border. Spread the strawberry jam and diced strawberries (if using) on top.
- Roll and Slice: Roll the dough tightly from the long side and seal the edges. Cut into 12-14 rolls and place them in a greased baking dish, cut side up. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes until puffed.
