Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 3 large egg whites
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¾ cup dark chocolate chips
- ½ cup dried cherries (or dried sour cherries), roughly chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Add egg whites and vanilla. Stir until the mixture forms a thick, glossy batter.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped dried cherries.
- Scoop heaping tablespoons of batter onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the tops are glossy and cracked. The edges should be set but the centers still soft.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

- Do not overbake—cookies will continue to set as they cool.
- You can use mini chocolate chips for better distribution.
- These cookies are naturally gluten-free but check labels to ensure all ingredients are certified gluten-free if needed.
