Description

These delightful Blue Christmas Truffles are a festive treat with a creamy filling and white chocolate coating. With a touch of blue food coloring and sparkling sugar, they make the perfect holiday indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the truffle filling:
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
    • 1 cup shredded coconut (optional for texture)
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • ½ tsp almond extract (optional for extra flavor)
    • 4 drops of blue food coloring
  • For the coating:
    • 12 oz white chocolate chips or candy melts
    • Blue sparkling sugar or sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  • Prepare the filling: Beat the softened cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until fully combined. Stir in the vanilla extract, almond extract (if using), and blue food coloring until the mixture is evenly tinted.
  • Shape the truffles: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the filling and roll them into smooth balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze the truffle balls for 30 minutes to firm up.
  • Coat the truffles: Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth. Dip each frozen truffle into the white chocolate, coating completely. Use a fork to lift the truffle and let excess chocolate drip off. Place the coated truffles back on the parchment-lined sheet. Immediately sprinkle with blue sugar or sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  • Set and serve: Let the truffles set at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. Serve chilled or at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.

Notes

You can make these truffles a few days ahead of time and store them in the fridge. Feel free to add shredded coconut for extra texture in the filling.
