  • 1 package (10 oz) marshmallows
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup blueberry preserves or blueberry jam

  • A pinch of salt (optional, for balance)
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries (optional, for added texture)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Melt the Butter and Marshmallows: In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Add Rice Krispies: Remove the pot from heat and immediately stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Prepare the Blueberry Swirl: In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat the blueberry preserves in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds until it becomes slightly thinner and more spreadable.
  5. Swirl the Blueberry Jam: Pour half of the Rice Krispies mixture into the prepared pan and gently press it down into an even layer. Drizzle some of the blueberry preserves over the top, then swirl it in with a spoon or a knife.
  6. Top and Set: Add the remaining Rice Krispies mixture to the pan, pressing it gently to form an even layer. Drizzle the rest of the blueberry preserves over the top and swirl again for a marbled effect. If using fresh blueberries, sprinkle them on top at this stage.
  7. Let Set: Allow the Rice Krispies treats to cool and set at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or until firm enough to cut into squares.
