Description

A satisfying breakfast sandwich packed with gooey melted cheese and fluffy scrambled eggs between two golden, buttery slices of bread—a quick and hearty way to start your day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp butter (divided)
  • 2 slices cheddar or American cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat 1/2 tbsp butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Pour in egg mixture and scramble until just set. Remove from heat.
  3. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Heat a clean skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet.
  5. Layer one slice of cheese, scrambled eggs, and the second slice of cheese on top. Place the other slice of bread, butter-side up, on top.
  6. Cook 2–3 minutes per side or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Add cooked bacon, ham, or sausage for extra protein.
  • Use shredded cheese for more even melting.
  • Great with hot sauce or avocado on the side.
