Description

Breakfast Pizza is the perfect way to start your day with a delicious, hearty twist on traditional pizza. Featuring a crispy crust, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon or sausage, melty cheese, and fresh toppings like spinach or bell peppers, this pizza is both satisfying and customizable. It’s a great choice for brunch, family gatherings, or just a fun breakfast treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing dough)

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 4 large eggs

  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon (crumbled) or cooked sausage (crumbled)

  • 1/4 cup diced bell peppers (optional)

  • 1/4 cup fresh spinach (optional)

  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced (optional)

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a bit of heat)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh herbs (optional, like parsley or basil)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.

    2. Prepare the Dough:

    • Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired size and shape.

    • Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone, and brush with olive oil to help it crisp up during baking.

    3. Cook the Eggs:

    • In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs with milk, salt, and pepper.

    • In a non-stick skillet, cook the eggs over medium heat, stirring constantly, until scrambled and cooked through. Set them aside.

    4. Assemble the Pizza:

    • Spread a thin layer of mozzarella cheese on the pizza dough.

    • Add a layer of scrambled eggs on top of the cheese, followed by crumbled bacon (or sausage), bell peppers, spinach, and green onions.

    • Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and red pepper flakes (if using).

    5. Bake the Pizza:

    • Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

    6. Finish and Serve:

    • Once the pizza is out of the oven, sprinkle fresh herbs like parsley or basil on top for extra flavor.

    • Slice and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious breakfast pizza!

Notes

  • Customizations: Feel free to swap out the bacon for sausage, ham, or even a vegetarian option like mushrooms and tomatoes.

  • Cheese Choices: You can use any cheese you like, such as mozzarella, cheddar, gouda, or feta.

  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the pizza dough and toppings ahead of time and just assemble and bake in the morning.

  • Spicy Version: Add a bit of hot sauce, jalapeños, or chili flakes to spice up your breakfast pizza.
