Description

Broccoli Melt is a cheesy, savory dish that brings together the goodness of tender broccoli with melted cheese and savory seasonings. Perfect as a side dish or a light meal, it combines creamy cheese with a deliciously crisp topping for the ultimate comfort food!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. If using fresh broccoli, steam the florets until tender, about 5-7 minutes. If using frozen broccoli, thaw and drain well. Chop the broccoli into small bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together the cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the chopped broccoli to the cheese mixture and stir to combine until the broccoli is well-coated.
  5. Transfer the broccoli and cheese mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and melted butter. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the broccoli and cheese.
  7. Bake the broccoli melt in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  8. Serve warm as a side dish or a light meal. Enjoy!

Notes

  • This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes.
  • If you want extra flavor, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes or a sprinkle of fresh herbs like parsley or thyme on top.
  • For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream and a lower-fat mayonnaise alternative.
