Description

A fresh and crunchy salad made with crisp broccoli florets, smoky bacon, cheddar cheese, and a tangy-sweet dressing—perfect for potlucks, picnics, or a hearty side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1/3 cup sunflower seeds or chopped almonds (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or honey
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine broccoli, red onion, cheddar cheese, bacon, and sunflower seeds.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and sugar (or honey) until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and toss until everything is well coated.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to blend.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt in place of mayonnaise.
  • This salad holds up well and can be made a day in advance.
  • Add dried cranberries for a pop of sweetness.
