Description

Brownies on a Stick take your classic brownie experience to the next level! These handheld treats are perfect for parties, picnics, or just a fun twist on traditional brownies. Skewered and dipped in chocolate or your favorite toppings, these brownies are a delicious and interactive dessert that everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brownies:

  • 1 box of brownie mix (or homemade brownie recipe)
  • Ingredients required for the brownie mix (typically eggs, oil, and water—check your box instructions)

For the Coating & Toppings:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for dipping)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (for dipping chocolate)
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles (optional)
  • Crushed nuts (such as walnuts or pecans, optional)
  • Shredded coconut (optional)
  • Extra chocolate chips, crushed candies, or other favorite toppings (optional)
  • 12 wooden skewers or popsicle sticks

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brownie Mix:
    • Preheat your oven according to the brownie mix instructions.
    • Prepare the brownie batter according to the box directions (usually mixing eggs, oil, and water into the brownie mix).
  2. Bake the Brownies:
    • Pour the brownie batter into a greased 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch square baking pan.
    • Bake according to the instructions on the box (usually about 20-30 minutes) or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs.
  3. Cool the Brownies:
    • Let the brownies cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, remove them from the pan and cut them into squares (about 12-16 pieces, depending on the size you want).
  4. Insert the Sticks:
    • Gently insert a wooden skewer or popsicle stick into the center of each brownie square. Be careful not to push it all the way through the brownie.
  5. Prepare the Chocolate Coating:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and heavy cream together. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
  6. Dip the Brownies:
    • Dip each brownie (on a stick) into the melted chocolate, coating it completely. You can also drizzle the chocolate over the brownies if you prefer less coverage.
  7. Add Toppings:
    • Before the chocolate hardens, dip or sprinkle your brownies with toppings like sprinkles, crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or additional chocolate chips.
  8. Let Set:
    • Place the dipped brownies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let them cool at room temperature, or place them in the fridge for about 15-20 minutes to help the chocolate set.
  9. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Serve the brownies on sticks as a fun and portable dessert, perfect for parties, barbecues, or snack time!

Notes

  • Feel free to get creative with toppings—candy bits, crushed cookies, or even marshmallows can make fun additions!
  • If you don’t want to dip the brownies in chocolate, you can drizzle the melted chocolate over the top for a simpler decoration.
  • If you’re making these for a party, consider serving them in individual cups or mason jars for a cute presentation.
