Description
This classic Bruschetta Recipe features crispy toasted bread topped with a fresh, zesty mix of ripe tomatoes, basil, garlic, and olive oil. It’s the perfect appetizer or snack for gatherings, summer parties, or as a light starter before dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch slices
- 3 tablespoons olive oil (plus extra for brushing)
- 3 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil. Bake for 5–7 minutes, until golden and crisp.
- In a medium bowl, combine diced tomatoes, garlic, basil, balsamic vinegar (if using), olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to combine.
- Spoon the tomato mixture onto the toasted baguette slices just before serving to prevent sogginess.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese or drizzle with extra olive oil for added flavor, if desired.
- Serve immediately as a fresh appetizer or party snack.
Notes
- Use cherry tomatoes for a sweeter twist.
- For a heartier version, add diced mozzarella or prosciutto to the topping.
- Toast the bread on a grill for a smoky flavor.
- Assemble right before serving to keep the bread crisp.
