Ingredients
Scale
For the Sliders:
- 12 slider buns (soft dinner rolls or Hawaiian buns work well)
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- 1 lb cooked chicken breast, shredded (or rotisserie chicken)
- 1/2 cup buffalo sauce (adjust to your spice level)
- 1/2 cup blue cheese dressing
- 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional for extra flavor)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing buns)
- 1 tbsp chopped green onions (for garnish, optional)
For the Buffalo Sauce:
- 1/4 cup buffalo sauce
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp honey (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the frozen tater tots in a single layer. Bake the tater tots according to the package instructions until golden and crispy, about 25-30 minutes. - Prepare the Chicken:
While the tater tots are baking, shred the cooked chicken and toss it in the buffalo sauce until well-coated. Set aside. - Prepare the Slider Buns:
Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves of the buns on a baking sheet. Brush the tops of the buns with olive oil for extra crispiness. - Assemble the Sliders:
Once the tater tots are crispy and golden, remove them from the oven. Place 1 or 2 tater tots on each bottom bun. Top each with a spoonful of the buffalo chicken mixture, then drizzle with blue cheese dressing. Add a sprinkle of crumbled blue cheese if desired. - Bake the Sliders:
Place the top halves of the buns over the toppings and press gently to compact. Bake the assembled sliders in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the buns are golden and slightly crispy. - Make the Buffalo Sauce:
While the sliders are baking, combine the buffalo sauce, melted butter, and honey (if using) in a small bowl. Stir to combine. Once the sliders are done baking, drizzle the buffalo sauce over the top of the sliders for an extra layer of flavor. - Garnish and Serve:
Once baked, remove the sliders from the oven. Garnish with chopped green onions (optional) and serve immediately. Enjoy!
Notes
- Chicken Variations: You can use shredded rotisserie chicken for a quicker option, or even ground chicken if you prefer.
- Spice Level: Adjust the buffalo sauce amount based on your desired level of spiciness. Add more honey if you want to balance the heat with sweetness.
- Blue Cheese Alternatives: If you’re not a fan of blue cheese, you can substitute with ranch dressing or another creamy sauce.
- Make-Ahead: You can prepare the buffalo chicken and tater tots ahead of time and assemble the sliders just before baking.
