Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 or leaner)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 cup kimchi, chopped
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (optional, for extra heat)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- Fresh cilantro or green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and black pepper to create the bulgogi marinade.
- Form the ground beef into 4 equal-sized patties. Pour the marinade over the patties and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours) in the fridge.
- While the beef is marinating, mix together mayonnaise and sriracha sauce (if using) in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the bulgogi burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, toast the buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
- Once the burgers are cooked, assemble the burgers: Spread a generous amount of spicy mayo on the bottom bun, then add the bulgogi burger patty, followed by a spoonful of chopped kimchi.
- Top with fresh cilantro or green onions, sprinkle with sesame seeds (if using), and close with the top bun.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your Bulgogi Kimchi Burger!
Notes
- For an extra flavor boost, you can add a slice of cheese (like provolone or cheddar) to the burger while it’s cooking to melt on top.
- If you prefer a milder burger, you can skip the sriracha sauce or use a milder kimchi.
- Feel free to add other toppings like pickled vegetables, avocado, or even a fried egg for added richness.
- Serve with a side of fries or a simple salad for a complete meal.
