Description
This indulgent take on the classic Caprese combines creamy burrata with ripe tomatoes and fresh basil, all topped with a simple drizzle of olive oil and balsamic glaze for a fresh, satisfying appetizer or side.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large heirloom tomatoes or 4 small tomatoes, sliced
- 8 oz burrata cheese (1 large ball or 2 smaller balls)
- Fresh basil leaves
- Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling
- Balsamic glaze, for drizzling (or balsamic vinegar if preferred)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Arrange the Tomatoes and Burrata:
- On a serving platter, arrange the sliced tomatoes in a single layer. Place the burrata in the center, keeping it whole or gently tearing it for a more rustic look.
- Add Basil and Season:
- Tuck fresh basil leaves around and on top of the tomatoes and burrata. Sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Drizzle with Olive Oil and Balsamic:
- Drizzle extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze (or vinegar) over the salad. Be generous with the olive oil for added richness.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately with crusty bread or as a light appetizer.
