Perfect for parties, movie nights, or just as a quick snack, this delightful dessert will have everyone coming back for more!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups rice Chex cereal (or any other crispy rice cereal)
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup Butterfinger candy bars, chopped into small pieces (about 3 full-sized bars)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate and peanut butter mixture:
    a. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the peanut butter, chocolate chips, and butter.
    b. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
    c. Stir in the chopped Butterfingers until well combined.

  2. Coat the cereal:
    a. In a large bowl, add the rice Chex cereal.
    b. Pour the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the cereal and gently toss to coat each piece evenly.

  3. Coat with powdered sugar:
    a. Place the coated cereal mixture into a large resealable plastic bag or a container with a tight-fitting lid.
    b. Add the powdered sugar, seal the bag or container, and shake vigorously until the cereal is fully coated with powdered sugar.

  4. Cool and serve:
    a. Spread the coated puppy chow onto a parchment-lined baking sheet or large surface to cool and set.
    b. Once cooled, serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Notes

  • You can also add extra chopped Butterfingers on top after the puppy chow has cooled for additional crunch and flavor.
  • For a different flavor twist, try using other candy bars like Reese’s or Snickers instead of Butterfingers.

  • If you want to make it less sweet, reduce the amount of powdered sugar or use a sugar alternative.
