Description

  • This one-pan dish brings the comforting flavors of traditional cabbage rolls to your table in a fraction of the time. Ground beef, tender cabbage, and savory seasonings come together for a hearty meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes

  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar

  • 5 cups chopped green cabbage (about 1 medium head)

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill or parsley, plus more for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

  2. Add ground beef to the skillet; cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, ground cinnamon, and granulated sugar. Bring to a simmer.

  4. Add chopped cabbage to the skillet; stir to combine. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender, about 20–25 minutes.

  5. Stir in chopped fresh dill or parsley. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

  6. Serve hot, garnished with additional fresh herbs if desired

Notes

  • For a low-carb version, serve over cauliflower rice.

  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for added flavor and nutrition.
