- 2 cups hazelnuts
- 1/4 cup raw cacao powder
- 2/3 cup maple syrup
- Sliced toasted fruit loaf (for serving)
Instructions
- Roast hazelnuts: Preheat oven to 160°C (325°F). Spread hazelnuts on a baking tray and roast for 8-10 minutes, or until golden.
- Remove skins: Place hazelnuts on a clean tea towel and rub to remove skins.
- Process: In a food processor, combine warm hazelnuts and cacao powder. Process for 4-6 minutes, or until ground.
- Add maple syrup: While the food processor is running, gradually pour in maple syrup until well combined.
- Serve: Transfer the spread to a bowl and let it cool. Serve on toasted fruit loaf.

Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of maple syrup according to your taste preference.
