The combination of classic ranch flavor and bold Cajun spices makes it perfect for salads, dipping fried foods, or drizzling over grilled meats and vegetables. This homemade version is quick and easy to prepare, bringing a delicious and fiery twist to your favorite dishes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup buttermilk (or regular milk for a lighter version)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste for heat)
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk until smooth and well combined.
- Add the Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, parsley, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until all the spices are well incorporated into the dressing.
- Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning if needed. If you want more heat, add extra Cajun seasoning or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together. The longer it sits, the better the flavors develop.
- Serve the Cajun Ranch Dressing as a dip for veggies, fried foods, or chicken wings, or drizzle it over salads or grilled meats.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can replace the sour cream and mayonnaise with Greek yogurt and use low-fat buttermilk.
- If you prefer a creamier dressing, use less buttermilk to keep the texture thicker.
- This dressing can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
- Feel free to adjust the level of Cajun seasoning based on your spice preference, or add a pinch of cayenne pepper for more heat.
