Description

Family bonding around a campfire is one of the highlights of camping. The warm glow of the fire, the laughter, and, of course, the delicious s’mores are what create lasting memories. Here’s everything you need to know to make the perfect campfire s’mores!

Ingredients

  • Graham crackers (2 packets)
  • Large marshmallows (as many as you need)
  • Plain chocolate bars (1-2 bars, broken into pieces)
  • Long stick or metal roasting stick
  • Campfire (for roasting)
  • Willpower (to avoid overindulgence)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Graham Crackers: Snap a graham cracker in half to create a top and bottom for your s’more.
  • Add Chocolate: Break your chocolate bar into cracker-sized pieces and place one piece on the bottom cracker.
  • Toast the Marshmallow: Skewer a large marshmallow with your stick and hold it over the fire. Toast it to your preference:
    • Lightly Toasted: Golden brown and still firm in the middle.
    • Fully Toasted: Set it on fire and blow it out for a melty treat!
  • Assemble the S’more: Place the roasted marshmallow on top of the chocolate, then press the top graham cracker down to hold it in place. Carefully remove the stick to avoid burns.
  • Melt and Enjoy: Allow the heat from the marshmallow to soften the chocolate, then take a bite and relish the sticky sweetness!

Notes

For extra flavor, try using flavored chocolate bars or adding peanut butter to the graham cracker.
