Description

A delightful and easy-to-make appetizer that combines the classic flavors of a Caprese salad with the satisfying crunch of toasted bread.


Ingredients

  • Sliced bread (ciabatta or sourdough works great)
  • Fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Pesto sauce
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Toast the Bread: Lightly brush the bread slices with olive oil and toast them on a grill or in a toaster until golden brown and crispy.
  • Assemble the Toast: Spread a generous layer of pesto sauce on each slice of toasted bread.
  • Add the Toppings: Place a slice of tomato on top of the pesto, followed by a slice of fresh mozzarella.
  • Season: Sprinkle a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper over the tomatoes and mozzarella.
  • Garnish: Finish with a fresh basil leaf on top of each toast.
  • Serve: Serve immediately while the bread is still warm and crunchy.
