Ingredients
- Sliced bread (ciabatta or sourdough works great)
- Fresh mozzarella, sliced
- Ripe tomatoes, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Pesto sauce
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Toast the Bread: Lightly brush the bread slices with olive oil and toast them on a grill or in a toaster until golden brown and crispy.
- Assemble the Toast: Spread a generous layer of pesto sauce on each slice of toasted bread.
- Add the Toppings: Place a slice of tomato on top of the pesto, followed by a slice of fresh mozzarella.
- Season: Sprinkle a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper over the tomatoes and mozzarella.
- Garnish: Finish with a fresh basil leaf on top of each toast.
- Serve: Serve immediately while the bread is still warm and crunchy.
