Description
These Caramel Apple Bites combine crunchy pretzels, sweet caramel, and fresh apple pieces for a delightful and easy-to-make treat that’s perfect for fall gatherings and parties.
Ingredients
Scale
- 38 mini twist or snap-style pretzels
- 1 bag Kraft caramels
- 1 green apple
- 1 red apple
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250°F (about 120°C).
- Line a 9×13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the pretzels on the baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.
- Unwrap the caramels and place one in the center of each pretzel.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven.
- While the pretzels are baking, clean, dry, core, and chop the apples into 1 to 1½-inch pieces (do not peel). Store in a bowl of water or Sprite to prevent browning.
- After baking, insert a toothpick into the top of each apple piece, with the peel side facing up. Ensure the toothpick extends slightly from the bottom.
- Press the toothpick and apple piece into the melted caramel on each pretzel, flattening it to cover more of the pretzel.
- Let rest for at least 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For best results, dry the apple pieces completely before inserting them into the caramel to ensure they stick well.
- Feel free to experiment with different types of apples for varied flavors.
