Description

A delightful dessert that combines the creamy richness of vanilla ice cream with crunchy popcorn and decadent dark chocolate, all drizzled with homemade caramel sauce. Perfect for impressing guests or treating yourself!

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Dome:
    • 1 large vanilla ice cream dome
    • 100g popcorn
    • 100g dark chocolate, broken into chunks
    • 150 ml caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • For the Caramel Sauce:
    • 200g granulated sugar
    • 90g unsalted butter
    • 120 ml heavy cream
    • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Prepare the Caramel Sauce:
    • In a saucepan, heat the sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. Sugar will form clumps and eventually melt into a thick, amber-colored liquid.
    • Once the sugar is completely melted, carefully add the butter. Be cautious, as the caramel will bubble rapidly.
    • Slowly drizzle in the heavy cream while stirring. The mixture will bubble again. Allow it to boil for 1 minute.
    • Remove from heat, add salt, and let cool before using.
  • Assemble the Dome:
    • Place the vanilla ice cream dome on a serving plate.
    • Pour a generous amount of caramel sauce over the dome, allowing it to drip down the sides.
    • Stick popcorn around the dome, pressing gently to adhere.
    • Sprinkle dark chocolate chunks over the popcorn layer.
  • Serve:
    • Allow the dome to sit for a few minutes before serving to slightly soften the ice cream. Provide extra caramel sauce on the side for drizzling.

Notes

  • Make sure to monitor the caramel closely to avoid burning.
  • You can customize the toppings by adding nuts or different types of chocolate.
