Description

  • These Cheddar Bay Biscuits are a delicious, buttery, and cheesy copycat version of the famous Red Lobster biscuits. Perfectly fluffy, golden brown, and loaded with garlic, cheddar cheese, and a hint of parsley. Great for a cozy dinner or as a side dish to impress your guests!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt, divided

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (1 1/2 sticks), divided

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 8 ounces shredded mild cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Add 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter in a small microwave-safe mixing bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds or until butter is melted. Set aside.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Whisk until well combined.

  4. Add melted butter and milk to the flour mixture. Whisk gently until all the flour is wet. Do not overmix.

  5. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and fold it in with a spoon.

  6. Drop heaping spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the biscuits are golden brown.

  8. Meanwhile, melt the remaining 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) of butter in a small bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds.

  9. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt and parsley to the melted butter, and stir with a pastry brush.

  10. Remove biscuits from the oven, and brush with the melted butter mixture. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a softer texture, be careful not to overmix the dough.

  • You can use sharp cheddar cheese for a more intense flavor.

  • Biscuits are best served warm, right after brushing with the melted butter.
