Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup Bisquick or all-purpose baking mix
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon ketchup (optional, for topping)
1 tablespoon mustard (optional, for topping)
Pickle slices (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned and the onion is soft. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Spread the mixture evenly in the greased pie dish.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
- In a bowl, whisk together milk, Bisquick (or baking mix), and eggs until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the beef and cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Optionally, drizzle with ketchup and mustard, and garnish with pickles.
