Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 small Onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups Frozen tater tots
- 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
- Ketchup and mustard, for serving (optional)
- Pickles, sliced (optional)
- Lettuce, shredded (optional)
- Tomato, diced (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Place the tater tots in the bottom of each muffin cup, arranging them in a single layer. Use the back of a spoon to slightly mash them into the bottom of the cups to form a crust.
- Bake the tater tots for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Once the tater tots are done, remove them from the oven. Spoon the seasoned beef mixture on top of each tater tot crust, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Return the muffin tin to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before removing the tater tot cups from the muffin tin. Serve with your favorite cheeseburger toppings like ketchup, mustard, pickles, lettuce, and tomato.
Notes
- If you want to make these cups more like a traditional cheeseburger, feel free to add a small slice of cooked bacon or some sautéed mushrooms to the beef mixture.
- These can be easily made ahead of time! Assemble everything up to the point of baking, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking.
- For extra crunch, sprinkle some crispy fried onions on top before serving.
