    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon mustard
    • Salt and black pepper to taste
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • For the Cheesy Garlic Bread:
    • 1 loaf French bread or sub rolls, halved lengthwise
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (or 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped)
    • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Prepare the Sloppy Joe Filling:
    • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
    • Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
    • Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Season with salt and pepper.
    • Simmer for 8-10 minutes until the sauce thickens and flavors meld together.
  • Prepare the Cheesy Garlic Bread:
    • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, and parsley until combined.
    • Spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the French bread or sub rolls.
    • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
    • Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.
  • Assemble the Sloppy Joes:
    • Once the bread is done, remove it from the oven.
    • Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom half of the cheesy garlic bread.
    • Place the top half of the bread on and press down slightly.
  • Serve:
    • Slice into portions and serve hot.
