- For the Cheesy Garlic Bread:
- 1 loaf French bread or sub rolls, halved lengthwise
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley (or 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Prepare the Sloppy Joe Filling:
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer for 8-10 minutes until the sauce thickens and flavors meld together.
- Prepare the Cheesy Garlic Bread:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, and parsley until combined.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the French bread or sub rolls.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.
- Assemble the Sloppy Joes:
- Once the bread is done, remove it from the oven.
- Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom half of the cheesy garlic bread.
- Place the top half of the bread on and press down slightly.
- Serve:
