Description

A comforting casserole layering seasoned ground beef, cheesy sauce, and crispy tater tots baked to golden perfection—a family favorite dinner that’s easy to make.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, half of the cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Top with frozen tater tots in an even layer.
  6. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven, sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese on top, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly and tater tots are golden brown.
  8. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
