Description

A comforting and delicious Cheesy Sausage Penne Bake that combines smoky sausage with creamy cheese sauce and al dente penne pasta, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta: Boil penne in salted water until al dente, then drain.
  • Sauté the Sausage: In a skillet, cook sausage slices over medium heat until browned on both sides, then set aside.
  • Make the Cheese Sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Add Cheese: Stir in cheddar and mozzarella until melted and smooth.
  • Combine & Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix cooked pasta with the cheese sauce, then transfer to a baking dish. Top with sausage slices and more cheese if desired.
  • Bake: Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
  • Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy hot!
