- 12 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Boil penne in salted water until al dente, then drain.
- Sauté the Sausage: In a skillet, cook sausage slices over medium heat until browned on both sides, then set aside.
- Make the Cheese Sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add Cheese: Stir in cheddar and mozzarella until melted and smooth.
- Combine & Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix cooked pasta with the cheese sauce, then transfer to a baking dish. Top with sausage slices and more cheese if desired.
- Bake: Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy hot!
