Description

These Cherry Chocolate Chip Blondies are a decadent and fruity twist on classic blondies. With a gooey chocolate chip base, bursts of cherry filling, and more chocolate on top, these bars are the perfect combination of sweet, chewy, and rich flavors!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • Additional chocolate chips and maraschino cherries for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
  • Spread half of the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the batter, leaving some space around the edges. Spread the remaining batter over the cherry filling, gently smoothing the top.
  • Sprinkle the top with the reserved chocolate chips and maraschino cherries.
  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let the blondies cool in the pan before cutting them into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For best results, let the blondies cool completely before cutting to ensure clean edges.
  • Feel free to experiment with different pie fillings for variety.
