Description

These Cherry Filled Crescent Rolls are a deliciously sweet treat, combining flaky crescent dough with a tangy cherry filling. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack, these easy-to-make rolls will become your new favorite pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • ½ cup cherry pie filling (or fresh cherries, pitted and chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened (optional for added creaminess)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional, for sweetness in the filling)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. Prepare the Cherry Filling:
In a small bowl, mix the cherry pie filling with the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar (if using) until smooth and combined. If using fresh cherries, chop them and mix with a little sugar to create a thick cherry filling.

  3. Assemble the Crescent Rolls:
Unroll the crescent dough and separate the triangles.
Place a small spoonful of the cherry filling (about 1 tablespoon) near the wide end of each crescent dough triangle. Be careful not to overfill.
Roll up the dough from the wide end to the tip, enclosing the cherry filling inside each roll.

  4. Egg Wash and Sugar Sprinkle:
Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the crescent rolls to give them a golden, glossy finish.
Sprinkle granulated sugar over the top for extra sweetness and crunch.

  5. Bake the Crescent Rolls:
Place the filled crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.

  6. Cool and Serve:
Let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm, either on their own or with a drizzle of icing.

Notes

  • You can also drizzle a simple glaze (powdered sugar and milk) over the rolls after baking for an extra touch of sweetness.
  • For a more intense cherry flavor, use fresh or frozen cherries and cook them down with a bit of sugar to create a thicker filling.
